Even Principals Love Dress-Up!
There’s never a dull moment when you’re hanging out with our littlest Bulldogs! Mr. Hogan stopped by preschool and quickly found himself right in the middle of dress-up time—and of course, he was a great sport and joined in on the fun!
We love seeing our principal take time to laugh, play, and make special memories with our students. Whether he’s running the school or rocking the latest preschool fashion, Mr. Hogan knows how to make our Bulldogs smile!
It’s moments like these that make Barnett such a fun and special place to be!

Guess This Bulldog Reveal!
The mystery Bulldog is... Preston Adams, our new Title I Staff Developer!
Preston was born in Texas, but he was raised right here in Spanish Fork and Springville, making his return to Nebo feel like coming home. Growing up, he was a huge sports fan and spent countless hours on the basketball court. Being part of the BYU community was also a big part of his childhood, as his dad was a professor there, making Cougar sports a family tradition.
After graduating from BYU, Preston began his teaching career in the Alpine School District. Before long, he realized his heart was calling him back home, where he joined the Nebo School District as a 5th grade teacher at Meadow Brook Elementary. During his time there, he earned his master's degree in Educational Leadership from UVU, continuing his passion for learning and helping others grow.
Preston and his wife have a sweet story—they first met in high school and reconnected after serving their missions. Today, they're proud parents of two wonderful daughters, and they're eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby boy this September!
We are so excited to welcome Preston Adams to the Barnett family as our new Title I Staff Developer. His love for education, leadership, and helping both students and teachers succeed makes him a wonderful addition to our Bulldog team. Welcome to Barnett, Preston—we're so glad you're here!

Guess This Bulldog Reveal!
The mystery Bulldog is... Teresa Macinanti, one of our fabulous 2nd grade teachers!
Teresa's journey to becoming a teacher has been anything but ordinary! She grew up working in her family's bakery from a very young age, often hearing the question, "Are you old enough to work here?"
After getting married and welcoming their first child, Teresa and her family spent 13 wonderful years in Massachusetts, where they lived on a farm with their own private lakeside beach. Her kids still talk about one of the sweetest perks from those years—bringing home leftover donuts from her time working at Dunkin' Donuts!
Believe it or not, Teresa changed her college major six times before discovering her true passion. Everything changed when her son's preschool teacher became a source of hope and support as their family navigated autism and special education. That teacher's compassion and dedication inspired Teresa to become an educator herself so she could make the same kind of difference in the lives of other children and families.
Four years ago, Teresa and her family made Utah their home. While they'll always have a special place in their hearts for the East Coast, she says finding a home at Barnett has been one of the brightest parts of their journey. We are so grateful she's part of our Bulldog family! We know she's going to make this an incredible year for our second graders!

GUESS THIS BULLDOG REVEAL!
The guesses are in, and it’s time to reveal this Bulldog!
Drumroll, please…
Our mystery Bulldog is DYLON SASSER!
Dylon was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho, but spent his teenage years right here in Payson, where he graduated from Payson High School in 2017!
While at PHS, Dylon played football, pretended he knew how to play a few instruments, and was part of the school broadcast team. And speaking of broadcasting… to Dylon’s great regret, a few Barnett students have managed to stumble across his YouTube channel from high school! We’re sure they have been very respectful with that information.
Dylon has been a very important part of our Barnett family for six years as our Head Custodian and has been with the school district for 11 years!
In fact, Dylon recently discovered something shocking: apparently, you’re allowed to change jobs! But thankfully for us, he has no plans to leave Barnett anytime soon! Dylon loves his job at Barnett and is excited to welcome all of our Bulldogs back for another great school year!
Dylon is also celebrating a very exciting chapter in his personal life. He has been married to his wife, Abigail, for a little over two years, and the two of them are looking forward to welcoming their first child… eventually!
We are so lucky to have Dylon as part of our Barnett family. He keeps our school running, our Bulldogs taken care of, and apparently our students entertained with stories from his YouTube past!

This Bulldog grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho, but these days, he’s a proud Utah Bulldog!
His favorite sports team? The Pittsburgh Steelers!
But here’s where things get interesting… 👀
In high school, this Bulldog claims he was bigger AND stronger than BYU and Minnesota Vikings player Tyler Batty! And guess what? They both played football for Payson! There’s just one tiny problem… this Bulldog’s mom lost the evidence!
Who do you think this Bulldog could be?

The guesses are in, and it’s time to reveal this Bulldog!
Drumroll, please…
Our mystery Bulldog is LIZ HATHAWAY!
Originally from Tri-Cities, Washington, Liz grew up with two sisters and two brothers and spent plenty of time on the water! She grew up waterskiing on the river near her house and even started wake surfing a few years ago.
Her favorite place to be? On the river or lake with her family!
Liz made her way to Utah to attend BYU, where she graduated in Speech-Language Pathology and Spanish. We are so lucky that her journey brought her to Barnett! This will be her second year as our speech therapist, and she loves working with our awesome students and staff!
When she’s not helping our Bulldogs find their voices, Liz enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and going on walks.
Liz also recently celebrated her first anniversary with her husband! Together, they love backpacking, playing pickleball, and eating lots of good food!
We are so lucky to have Liz as part of our Barnett family!

GUESS THIS BULLDOG REVEAL!
The guesses are in, and it’s time to reveal this Bulldog!
Drumroll, please…
Our mystery Bulldog is SHERRI THAYNE!
Sherri was born and raised in Taos, New Mexico, and after graduating high school, her college journey took her on quite the adventure! She attended BYU for a year, transferred to New Mexico State University for a year, and then returned to BYU—where she met her husband!
Fast forward 38 years of marriage and four amazing children—Chrisanna, Brendan, Aiden, and Elora!
Sherri and her family moved from Orem to Payson in 2005, and she began her Barnett journey in 2006 as a Skill Building Coach. She later worked in Kindergarten as an aide. After six years at Barnett, she spent 11 years at Cherry Creek Elementary, working in Kindergarten and Skill Building.
Then came the opportunity to return to Barnett as our Wellness Room teacher, and Sherri jumped at the chance! And we are SO glad she did!
Sherri loves creating a safe and welcoming environment where students can come when they need a chance to reset. Most of all, she loves making positive connections with students—and those connections bring so much joy to her life.
When she’s not at school, you can find Sherri reading, going on off-roading adventures, or traveling! We are so lucky that this Bulldog found her way back home to Barnett!

Guess This Bulldog!
It's time for another round of Guess This Bulldog! Can you figure out which Barnett staff member this is?
I grew up in a small town on the Utah-Idaho border that's famous for one thing... beautiful Bear Lake!
I have four sisters, making us five girls in the family. Here's a fun clue: every one of our names starts with the same letter!
Since my hometown didn't have a high school, I spent about an hour each way riding the bus (and later driving) to school every single day.

Guess This Bulldog #11 REVEAL!
The mystery has been solved… and our #11 Bulldog is none other than Jane Price, one of our fifth grade teachers!
Thank you to everyone who took a guess and followed along with the clues and childhood photo!
A little more about Ms. Price:
She is a proud mom of four children and two bonus children, and even more proudly a grandma to two grandsons! Brancen (Derian), Kaylie (Jeremy), Trevin, and Addie. Her grandsons are Alvin and Luka. Alvin is her angel baby grandson, and Luka was born this January and already has her—and most of the family—wrapped around his little finger.
She grew up in Ogden, Utah and later moved to Payson during her senior year of high school to live with her older sister—and has been there ever since.
Ms. Price has been teaching for 14 years and was a paraprofessional for two years before becoming a teacher. This year marks her 16th year in education and her 4th year at Barnett Elementary. She holds an Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, and Master’s degree, and has a deep love of learning and being a lifelong student. She favorite subject is social studies.
She loves to travel (even though she hates flying!), and in her free time you can find her: reading, crafting, spending time with her family, watching Supernatural, and enjoying a little bit of shenanigans whenever possible She also has a deep love for Harry Potter, Taylor Swift, and soda pop! Ms. Price loves the TV show Supernatural and has met most of the cast members.
Thank you for celebrating another Barnett Bulldog—stay tuned for the next one!

Guess This Bulldog #10 REVEAL!
The mystery is over! Our Barnett Bulldog #10 is…
Kristine Staheli, one of our amazing 1st grade teachers
Here’s more about her journey and why we are so lucky to have her at Barnett:
She grew up in Fountain Green, Utah, a small town in Sanpete County. Her family raised sheep, and she spent much of her childhood on the farm with her six siblings, surrounded by hard work, adventure, and plenty of time outdoors.
During college, she took an incredible opportunity to teach English abroad for 18 months in China, Poland, and Haiti—an experience that sparked her passion for teaching and set her on her current path in education.
She attended USU, where she also met her husband. They later moved to Payson to be closer to family, where they currently live with their spunky orange kitty .
Now, she is heading into her 6th year teaching at Barnett, where she has loved teaching first grade and helping young learners grow. We are so grateful for the joy, energy, and love she brings to our school every day!
When she’s not in the classroom, you can usually find her:
Trail running in the mountains
Traveling (last-minute adventures are her specialty!)
Reading and crafting
Spending time with family and friends
Barnett truly is the best place because of amazing teachers like her!
